Take DVI Approved workshops and classes.
These workshops are geared specifically for teachers who are interested in learning skill-based techniques and how to implement them in their classrooms. You can find a list of DVI Approved workshops here.

Invite an DVI Ambassador to your professional development event.
The Da Vinci Initiative sends ambassadors to classrooms all over the country to provide professional development in skill-based learning for school districts and their art teachers. For more information, please contact us with your name, school, and location. The cost of this program is $750 plus ambassador travel expenses. Please note that The Da Vinci Initiative offers grants to state education conferences to cover all expenses. Click here for more information about DVI Ambassadors presenting at state education conferences.

Host a skill-based art competition in your school, city, or state.
Support skill-based learning in student work by hosting a skill-based art competition. Art teachers who have 5 or more school districts working together to host an art competition of skill-based works will automatically be awarded a DVI Ambassador Grant. For information on how to implement this in your school, click here.

Volunteer to judge the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards and other art competitions.
The Scholastic art competition is one of America's oldest art competitions, and draws on community artists to make up its judging panels. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is the largest source of scholarships for teen artists, and you can support young artists that study skill-based art techniques by volunteering to be a judge and awarding skill-based artwork. Teachers closely follow trends on this prestigious competition, and seeing judges reward skill-based artwork will encourage art teachers across the country to incorporate these types of lessons into their curricula.  Click here to apply to be a juror for the Scholastic art competition.

Use skill-based learning lesson plans in your classroom and share them with your peers.
The Da Vinci Initiative hosts a growing collection of lesson plans dedicated to K-12 art education. Access these free DVI lesson plans here.

Advocate for hosting skill-based learning workshops at your state education conference.
