This 1-hour talk will introduce you to The Da Vinci Initiative, a thriving non-profit organization making waves in the art education world. The Da Vinci Initiative’s mission is to provide skill-based learning in K-12 art classrooms around the United States. Debunking the myth that art is merely a “talent,” the Da Vinci Initiative strives to implement technical art methods into schools’ curricula. Through solid draftsmanship, color theory, paint handling skills, perspective, etc., students can expand their own toolbox for visual expression. Come learn how The Da Vinci Initiative is influencing art education and be amazed by the results when children are taught technical art skills in the classroom – you’ll be inspired!

Meet Top Realist Artists at NYC Exhibit

The Art Renewal Center (ARC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational foundation dedicated to the renewal of traditional training techniques in the visual arts, is hosting a live traveling exhibit for it's annual salon competition winners that opens in New York City January 18, 2016 . The show features works from dozens of realist artists culled from its annual ARC Salon Competition which had more than 2,500 entries by more than 1,050 artists.

A public artist Meet-and-Greet will be held on Saturday, January 23, from 1 - 5 pm at the historic Salmagundi Club where many of the artists featured in the exhibit will be available to talk about their work. Tickets for this event can be purchased for $25 through The Art Renewal Center.
